Reviews of Space and Time:

"Normally electropop isn't my cup of tea, but after spending a couple of days with Ganymede I find myself singing along to almost every song. I find very few bands in the electropop genre worth listening to. Most of the time it is either bad songs, bad vocals, or both. [But] this is an album full of good production, good vocals and catchy-like-a-cold melodies." -- Fredrik Hörström, Moving Hands

"Fans of Ganymede's old-skool style analogue synthpop style can rejoice as Patrick Runkle & David Friede return with their finest album to date. Where the duo score so highly is in their knack of turning out instantly memorable tunes & this is much in evidence throughout here ... as a rule, they're not content to revisit old glories & instead concentrate on making new ones, such as the superb 'Missing' with its superbly interweaving synthleads or the more powerfully rhythmic 'Distance' before the ballad-like 'The Way I Feel' closes the album on a nicely reflective note, featuring Runkle's duet with Juliana Breithaupt. If you're looking for top class analogue synthpop this is where it's at." -- Carl Jenkinson, Side-Line

"Ganymede's sound has progressed to even greater heights. Along with their knack for creative melody and songwriting, Ganymede delivers some very memorable lyrics amongst the waves of poppy blips, upbeat keyboards, and dancefloor-driven rhythms ... Ganymede throw out all the rules by unleashing a funk driven 70s disco venture in 'Hong Kong.' The fun doesn't stop there; they throw yet another curveball with the light trance number 'Distance.' Rounding out the set is the instrumental title track as well as perhaps the finest track on the album, 'Eternal.' Truly a value enriched package from some bright electro pop stars that have an even brighter future." -- Joseph Graham, Outburn

"With the release of Space And Time it easily leaves Ganymede in the position of being one of America's leading Synthpop bands with the album retaining that pure analogue Synthpop sound and style when so much of the present Electronic scene is predictably leaning more towards Future Pop & Electroclash ... with Space And Time they once again fail to disappoint as they have delivered another superb Synthpop album that will easily be among one of the best Synthpop albums you will hear this year."

-- Federica Tozzi, kronic.it

"Mit dem dritten Album der Bandgeschichte im Gepäck meldet sich Ganymede zurück. Die beiden Amerikaner Patrick Runkle und David Friede präsentieren auf "Space And Time" zehn wunderbar melodiöse analoge Synthpoptracks im Stile der guten alten 80er Jahre, gemischt mit neuzeitlichen Elementen." -- Re-flexion online

"The songs here are all well written, good songs. The programming and production is first rate. As much as they improved between the first and second CD, the leap here is even greater. There is no reason not to place this next to the Postal Service as one of the best electronic pop albums of the year." -- Dave Richards, Lexicon

"A worthy successor to "Euromantique"... "Daylight" was the first track I heard from this album, on the video compilation DVD "Living In Video" on Cohaagen Records. It's a solid Ganymede track, reminiscent of their best work such as "Neon Rain" or "Are You Falling In Love Again?" "Missing" is the hidden gem of this album, buried smack in the middle of the tracklist, but it's easily the highlight of the album. This is a song that grabbed me just like "Neon Rain" did... immediately standing out as one of the must listen to again and again tracks. "Maybe Forever" follows it and is just the same. A song I could listen to over and over again without it growing old... " Jason Baker, synthpop.net

Reviews of Falling:

"As with their first album and single I reviewed, the new Ganymede tracks show their good attitude into composing fresh 80's style songs being able to move from ballads to dance tunes with no doubt. Definitively a band to follow for every synthpop lover." -- Maurizio Pustianaz, Chain DLK

"Highly recommended! The two [new] tracks are great representations of Ganymede's synthpop skill, as the ballad "Somehow" is very moving, and the more dance-oriented "Never Is Forever" makes it impossible to sit still. It's hard for me to imagine the original ["Don't Be Foolish"] being much better. The instrumental portion of the song is so full of bouncy and bubbly synths, you can't help but love the song." -- Jason Baker, www.synthpop.net

"Ganymede präsentiert auf diesem Tonträger wunderschönen melodischen und experimentellen Synthpop. Dieser weiss durch einen klaren Gesang, der optimal auf die zugrunde liegenden Sounds abgestimmt ist, zu gefallen. Man darf von Ganymede in der Zukunft sicher noch so einiges erwarten und wir arbeiten auch bereits angestrengt daran, das Duo für einen der nächsten Reflexion Sampler zu gewinnen." -- Re-flexion.de

"Following Euromantique, this EP shows again that Ganymede is one of the best names from the wave of retro synthpop. With a total of 8 tracks, in which 3 are new songs, Falling EP is real treat for any electro-pop lovers. Both 'Are You Falling In Love Again?' and 'Legacy' are great moves towards a club approach while keeping the catchy lines of the original versions. [B!Machine's] remix for Kinder Days is superb, moving with an elegant groove. Both Soviet and Simulator have made great [remixes] too. Falling EP is a proof of Ganymede’s talent and skill for synthpop. The diversity of its content makes of this EP a little gem of electro-pop that will be appreciated for its quality and charm." -- Final Man, Electroage

Reviews of Euromantique:

"Without question, this was undoubtedly the most eagerly anticipated synthpop album by an American band over the past year. And the boys from Ganymede have not let their fans down. Ganymede are often hailed as one of the leaders in the modern synthpop movement, and after hearing this effort I would readily agree. [Dave and Pat] are passionate students of the electropop school, and this shows on every groove. 'Magic' is a frivolous and fun track that displays a knack for fun (a rarity in the synthpop field, and a welcome one) and 'Are You Falling in Love Again?' will have Kraftwerk fans coming back for seconds. Ganymede's panache for production and clever structures shines brilliantly on this one. However, the ne plus ultra of this CD would have to be 'Neon Rain,' a highly evocative slice of new wave that would make Visage proud. Overall, this is a winningly consistent effort. Euromantique abounds with a very cosmopolitan, future chic glow. A modern synthpop classic." -- Gary Flanagan, Nightwaves

"The band has come a long way ... Euromantique boasts a more developed, fresh-sounding style. Robotic vocals, analog synths, and catchy hooks are prevalent. Though ['Neon Rain'] is one of the best on the album, 'This Wasn't The First Time' takes the cake ... this song is a great synthpop tune. The most surprising track on the album is 'Legacy.' With the rhythm and feel of an Assemblage 23 song, Ganymede take a much darker turn with this track. Ganymede have truly impressed me with Euromantique. This is a strong, strong album and I'm anxiously anticipating what comes next from this band." -- Scott Mallonee, Re/Volt

"Ganymede fulfills our anticipations ... Euromantique marks the duo's best effort to date. The music [has] incredibly catchy hooks, cool beats and a great use of robotic vocoding effects on the vocals. But most importantly, Euromantique sets Ganymede's own sound, making it a unique outfit within the synthpop sphere. Over an up-beat rhythm, retro-flavored synthlines and floating vocoded voices, Runkle sings with conviction ... A true stand-out, 'This Wasn't the First Time,' is a cool club-oriented track with a cheerful pace. 'Love Games' reveals evocative lyrics, adding more substance to Ganymede's music. With all the expectations upon Ganymede, Euromantique doesn't deceive a bit." -- Final Man, Electroage

"This is a wonderful follow-up ... Ganymede manages to get it just right. I really have a hard time choosing a favorite song from this album, but ... 'Are You Falling In Love Again?' has 'single' written all over it. This is a really excellent album, and you really owe it to yourself to enjoy it. If you enjoy ultra-addictive upbeat synthpop, you must treat yourself to this! Highly Recommended!" -- Jason Baker, www.synthpop.net

"Euromantique contains 12 tracks of outstanding quality. Especially, the title track, the single 'Neon Rain' and the song 'Are You Falling In Love Again?' got a grip on me. Ganymede's music sounds complete. Simply excellent! " -- Erik Bakker, Euphrodita's Empire

"These songs are bouncy and destined to be heard on dancefloors everywhere..." -- Sampler et Sans Reproches

"[Euromantique] sounds fresh and new and is a welcome change of pace. Some of the highlights include 'It's Not Enough,' a great dance track with a wonderful chorus, 'Love Games,' which starts out slow and then builds up, and of course, 'Neon Rain,' the classic synthpop dance hit. The melodies here are bright and catchy and there is extensive use of vocoder to produce those beloved 'robotic voices.' It all meshes together to produce some very enjoyable synthpop. With this release, Ganymede brings us a fun and interesting album that shows how far they have come. The songs are well written and the music continues to be more and more diverse in sound. Euromantique won't disappoint." -- DJ Rodent, DJ Rodent's Reviews

Reviews of Neon Rain:

"'Neon Rain' itself is an excellent mid-paced track that gains pace with the chorus while the vocoder on the vocals add to the track itself to make it an excellent single ... great lyrics, remixes, new track ['Only Pictures Cry'] and the front cover. Rating - 95%" -- Danny King, Synthetic Vision

"One of the most infectious tracks I've ever heard ... You just can't go wrong with this single. Ganymede has produced yet another bit of ultra-addictive synthpop. HIGHLY recommended!" -- Jason Baker, www.synthpop.net

"Ganymede did it again. Just like their debut, Neon Rain will be in heavy rotation wherever you go while eagerly waiting for the duo's new album Euromantique to be released on May 2001 ... [it's] polished and refined and Neon Rain evolves Ganymede's unique trademark further ... an addictive retro-futuristic pop gem!" -- Final Man, Electroage

"Very upbeat and bouncy with a lot of sounds that could be described as beepy moog-esque creations, Ganymede continues to mature and improve. I liked their debut album After The Fall, but I like Neon Rain a whole lot more. Expect big things from Ganymede in the future and don't hesitate to add them to your synthpop shopping list in the present." -- DJ Macross, IPM Radio/Legends Magazine

"[Neon Rain is] very addictive and gets stuck in your head. Plus it has some really cool vocoded/robotic vocals! With this release, they have really taken everything to a new level." -- DJ Rodent, DJ Rodent's Reviews

Reviews of After The Fall:

"This is definitely one of the best synthpop releases this year, without doubt. A really, really excellent, professional and welcome debut from a band I'll certainly keep an eye on in the future ... After The Fall has potential to please both old-school as well as modern synthpop fans around the world. This is catchy, classic analog synthpop at its best." -- Atro Kajaste, Prospective Magazine

"This is one of the best American synthpop bands and releases I have ever heard ... an excellent debut release with strong, catchy melodic tracks that still hold an '80s edge. It's early yet but this album will at the end of the year be among the 'Top Five' synthpop albums released this year. 10/10." -- Danny King, Synthetic Vision

"Addictive like Elegant Machinery, cheerful like Cosmicity and pleasurable like early Anything Box; Ganymede brilliantly plays in the old-school synthpop field without a sense of déjà-vu. After The Fall is a highly pleasurable debut album full of little gems, catchy as a perfect pop song. It contains all the best elements of classic synthpop that will surely please all fans of the genre. Currently stuck in my CD player." -- Final Man, Electroage

"I don't see how anybody can not like this band ... [Ganymede] knows how to write a catchy pop song, as every song presented has all the perfect elements to pack a dance floor. Fans of catchy analogue synthpop will absolutely love this CD. I know I've had a hard time listening to anything else since I've gotten it ..." -- Jason Baker, www.synthpop.net

"After the Fall features some of the sharpest and most slickly produced synthpop that you are likely to hear from an independent band. It features plenty of chirping analogue embellishments, a strong sense of melody and strong vocals with character. Songs like 'City Dweller,' 'After the Fall' and 'You Look Like Someone I Know' are immediately catchy, bringing to mind the past efforts of Rational Youth and other '80s synthpop champions. The lyrics themselves also seem to display a simple charm and familiarity that is reminiscent of the very listenable '80s style. Many of the tracks would be equally at home on your home stereo or at your local club's retro night. Fans of synthpop, whether it be the new school or the old, will undoubtedly enjoy this from beginning to end." -- Gary Flanagan, Nightwaves

"Catchy and authentic enough to be simultaneously exciting and nostalgic. Longing for the glory days of neon and cocaine? Look no further."-- Doug Russell, listen.com

"Another fine release by Ninthwave Records ... After The Fall is full of vintage sounds and nice melodies. From the first song, the album sounds fresh and interesting and the tracks present dance and '80s influences both. Each time you listen to the album, you are caught by the melodies of the Ganymede, surprising yourself by singing along to songs like 'After The Fall,' 'Clever Girl' or 'Through The Darkest Night.'" -- Maurizio Pustianaz, DLK Magazine

"Often, when a modern synthpop band tries to capture the style of the music of the early '80s, it just doesn't work. But, Ganymede's effort is nearly perfect. After The Fall will make you think you've gone back time 20 years, when synthpop was just getting started." -- Scott Mallonee, Grinding Into Emptiness

"After The Fall is an accomplished production ... The musicians meticulously created their songs full of catchy tunes and danceable structures. The album ends with a techno-touch and for sure an absolute club-hit ['You're My Passion (Dance Mix)] ... A band to look out for!" -- Stephane Froidcoeur, Side-Line Magazine

Compilation and Remix Reviews:

Nobody's Diary:
"What can I say, they seem to have perfected the art of making catchy, dance-inducing analogue synthpop. Another great cover from Ganymede..." -- Jason Baker, www.synthpop.net

Pop Robot:
-- ADDict, Etron

Electricity:
"This is a really exciting CD ... [The 'Lady of the Night' Dance Mix is] even more dance-inducing than the original version. I continue to be impressed by Ganymede. In my mind, they're one of the best synthpop groups out there today ... I found [the Ganymede 'All We Are' remix] so addictive I played it 5 times straight the first time I heard it.
